I know it's a little late but I am going to do a few posts of my favorite beauty items from 2013. I really started getting into makeup over the summer so these products are ones I picked up from the summer on. Here are my favorite glitter polishes that I bought in 2013. It was hard but I narrowed it down as best I could. ![]() This Orly polish is called Macabre Masquerade. it is from their Secret Society Collection. I love the royal blue base with rainbow glitter combo. It makes the glitter stand out. I picked it up at Sally Beauty in the Fall for $7.99. ![]() The Statement Piece is a gold textured polish from L'Oreals holiday collection. It is a gold textured glitter that is really bold on the nail. I will be wearing this year round! That's how much I like this polish. ($5.99) ![]() This glitter makes the list because it is the only square glitter I own. It is from one of the Sally Hansen holiday collections. It is square holographic silver glitter. I swatched it over Revlon Parfumerie China Flower. ![]() L.A. Girl Color Pop is found at Rite Aid. This is ALMOST a dupe for Deborah Lippmans Candy Shop. This is a pink creme with pastel glitter called 'Birthday Cake'. It looks really nice against tan skin. ($2.99 or 2/$5) ![]() This is also a Deborah Lippman dupe for Across the Universe. It is called Mermaids Tale by Sally Hansen. It is a navy jelly polish with green and blue glitter. It sometimes looks black on the nail but in the light it is very unique. ($7.99) ![]() Summer Spritzer is my favorite Fergie glitter nailpolish by Wet n Wild. It is a limited edition collection color. I really like to color combination of glitter in this polish. It is swatched over Beachy by the Revlon Parfumerie collection. ![]() I love this limited edition collection. I have every one except for 2. The holiday Brocade collection from the Gilded in Gold displays are Some of my favorite polishes of the year. This is a gold and pink glitter combination called Gilded Rose. ($3.99) Every once and a while I find a store that still has this collection up. ![]() Out of all my Rainbow glitters, this is my favorite. this Selena Gomez for Nicole O.P.I. is currently on clearance for $1.84 at Rite Aid and CVS or .79 at Ulta Stores. It is a rainbow glitter with silver micro glitter called Confetti Fun. ![]() Revlon Girly from their permanent collection is also one of my favorite color combinations of glitter. This week at Walgreens Kiss nails and nail art are 40% off. I spotted this cute nail charm set and picked it up. It was on sale for $3.49. It only comes with a few of each design but there is great variety. There are jewels, bows, stars, hearts, flowers, ice cream, ovals and a strawberry. The glue is included. Below is a quick nail design using the bows from the nail art kit. I used dotting tools as well. The red polish is China Flower by Revlon Parfumerie ($5.99), grey is NYC Side walkers ($1.99), black is Rimmel Lasting Pro Finish in Black Satin ($3.99), red glitter is No Place Like Home by Fergie by Wet n Wild($3.49) and white is Snow Me White by Sinful Colors. ($1.99).
At Walgreens I found a small Wet n Wild Valentines themed display. There were 3 MegaLast lip sticks and 3 MegaLast Nail polishes in Valentines colors like red and pink. They were each priced at $1.99.
![]() I picked up some great Revlon deals this week during my ritual Sunday morning store run. There are $1 off Revlon Coupons in this weeks Sunday Paper. At Rite Aid if you spend $15 you receive $5 Up Rewards. You can use clearance items to qualify. I bought 2 Revlon clearance polishes for $1.36 each and used the $1 off Revlon polish coupon so it only cost me .36 cents each! I picked up a Revlon Age Defying powder for $3.46 and used the $2 off Revlon coupon available in today's paper. It cost me $1.36! I also got a Revlon ColorStay aqua mineral finishing powder. It also only cost me $1.36 after coupons and clearance price. ![]() Along with the Revlon purchases, at Rite Aid I picked up some clearance Nicole by O.P.I. Polishes, and a L.A. Colors color changing lipgloss. The Nicole by O.P.I. Modern Family and Selena Gomez polishes were 75% off. I got each for $1.24. I chose a gold and silver glitter by Selena Gomez called 'Kissed at Midnight', a Modern Family black and silver glitter called 'Luke of the Draw' and a pink micro and holographic glitter called ' Haley Good Lookin'. Lastly I picked up an L.A.Colors mood instinctive lipgloss for $1.99. It is a pale shimmery pink that is supposed to turn your own unique shade of pink on your lips. My total at Rite aid using coupons and store rewards came to $5.02. ![]() At Walgreens I picked up a iridescent glitter single eyeshadow from Wet n Wild. I also picked up a new Sinful Colors from their new collections called 'Red Eye'. From the new Fergie display I chose another Vicious Varnish Highshine lip stain in 'Flawless'. ![]() As part of my CVS trip I picked up some Revlon and L'Oreal products. The other day I bought the new L'Oreal Butterfly mascara and love it. This sale at CVS can give you a chance to buy a few new collection items. I bought a glittery L'Oreal polish and a new Color Extrordinaire lip gloss in Rosé Melody. If you spend $15 on Revlon you get $7 Extra Bucks back for your next purchase. I picked up a a Parfumerie Polish in African Tea Rose and a Super Lustrious Lipstick in 'Pink in the Afternoon'. I have never been a lipstick person but the Revlon lipsticks have completely changed my mind. This is a great week for Revlon and L'Oreal sales! ![]() I picked up a few great finds at Rite Aid and Target. From Rite Aid I found 2 holiday makeup kits in the 75% off section. A City Color Nail kit and a Wet n Wild makeup kit. The City Color is a velvet nail art kit which comes with 3 nail polishes and 3 matching 'velvet' pots. You sprinkle the corresponding velvet color over the wet nail. It is supposed to give the nail a velvet look. For $2.50 it was worth the try. The Wet n Wild kit was $1.49. This is an great price for a MegaProtein mascara, an IdolEyes cream eye pencil in a shimmery blue and a Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in 'I dream of Greenie'. At Target I bought a NYX Gift set, Revlon Brilliant Strength Nail color, a Sinful Nailpolish, and an E.L.F. 4 pan flawless eyeshadow. I bought the Revlon Brilliant Strength Polish in a pretty, shimmery golden green. It reminded me of spring. It was on sale for $2.08 and I used a $1 off Revlon Manufacturer Coupon that was in today's coupons. I bought one of the Sinful Holiday Polishes that I didn't have called 'Ice Dream'. It's a silver micro glitter base with royal blue glitter throughout. I only found 1 of the NYX gift sets because I would have bought more. I actually do not own any NYX cosmetics! For $4.98 I couldn't turn it up. It came with 2 eyeshadow singles in tan and a warm dark brown. It also has an shimmer eye roll on in dark brown, an Aqua Glam liquid liner in black and a set of false eyelashes with glue. Finally, I picked up a 4 color E.L.F. Eyeshadow in 'Party Purple'. It has shades of pink and purple that are labeled as to where they go on the eye. ($2). They had tons of other E.L.F. Geo gift sets for $2-$10. ![]() From the new Fergie Display at Walgreens I picked up the new 8-1 BB Cream and the mattifying powder. The BB Cream comes in 5 shades ($5.99). I chose the light/medium shade. It is one of the more watery BB or CC Creams I have tried. The BB coverage is so-so. It seemed to even out my skin a little bit but needed to be a little stronger on coverage. It blends in easily. A little too easily. I wasn't sure if it was on or I missed a spot on my face. I put on 2 layers just to make sure. I had to use foundation on over it. As much as I love the Fergie products, I don't think I will be buying this again. ($5.99) The mattifying powder puts a finishing touch over foundation. It adds a nice powder finish to help with oily skin. The powder is very sheer and does not leave the obvious powder look on the face. I like this because it is so sheer and it helps with setting your face. You can reapply throughout to day especially if you have oily skin. I like the product better than the BB Cream. There are also new lip glosses and eyeliners as well as re promotes from previous collections. ![]() I am excited about a few of my purchases today. I went to Rite Aid and Walgreens to check out any new displays and the holiday clearance. I picked up the newest 8 pan palette from Wet n Wild. ($5.29) I really like the bright colors to experiment with. There are shades of pink with a black matte definer on the left and yellow, seafoam, blue and a deep royal blue on the right. I also picked up the New Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser by Maybelline ($6.99). I am really curious to see if this works. I will definitely review it. I found the colored Great Lash mascaras at Walgreens. I really like Great Lash mascaras and I loved the berry colored mascara that I bought previously. I picked up the teal one to try ($5.49) ($2.00 off mfc on coupons.com) ![]() I also picked up the 'Art in the Streets' 5 pan palette by Wet n Wild. They have great quality products for the price. The colors are very unconventional and I really like that. I chose a purple and lavender chunky glitter nail polish called 'Jam Session'. With the big glitter it really stands out on the nail. With $1 off coupons attached you can't beat the price. Rite Aid also has a BOGO 50% off Wet n Wild sale that can be used with these products. ($2.99 each) ![]() I also saw a $5 The Color Workshop Everyday Glamour My Lash Stash at Walgreens. It was 50% off. It had a mascara, lash glue, liquid liner and eyelash applicator. For $2.50 even if one of the products is good it is worth it. Check out Walgreens or Rite Aid for the newest 2014 collections including items above! The 2014 collections from Wet n Wild should be arriving at stores any day. I have seen the collections at Harmon and Rite Aid. The new Fergie collection has been seen at Walgreens. I picked up a few new items to swatch and review. Many of the new items have a $1 off coupon attached. ![]() I tried 2 of the balm stain colors: Pinky Promise and Rico Mauve. The lip stains have a smooth, moisturizing texture. They leave a sheer stain of color on the lips. I like the way these balms feel. I would definitely recommend picking one up. ($2.99) ![]() Floral Values is a pink and purple eyeshadow 5 pan. I did swatches with and without primer. The light pale pink and shimmery purple are very sheer shades, even with primer. The other colors are very pigmented even without primer. The sheer shades balance the pigmented ones nicely. My favorite color is the dark purple/blue with magenta glitter that is for the crease. The colors go on fairly easily and build up nice. ($3.99) ![]() Without primer ![]() With primer ![]() This is a blue and iridescent glitter polish called 'Stick it to the man'. All polishes are in a clear base. This polish has blue hexagon glitter and square iridescent glitter. This is one coat. It paints smooth and covers on one swipe. ($2.99) ![]() This is a gold chunky glitter called 'Waiting for my Solo'. It has large and small hexagon glitter. It covers smoothly and evenly in one coat. ($2.99) ![]() This is a large and small hexagon chunky glitter called 'Creative Control'. It coats smooth and evenly in one coat. ($2.99) Overall I think that it is a solid attempt at a new collection. I wish there were other nail polishes along with the glitter polishes. The 5 pans are in typical colors except one called Art in The Streets which has orange, yellow, blue, green and purple. That is my next purchase. The lip balm stains are a nice choice if you are in the market to try something new. They are all a great price. ![]() At the end of an aisle was a new Wet n Wild display. On the top were new eyeshadow singles including glitter eyeshadow singles. There was a row of the chunky glitter polishes that I have seen at Rite Aid. There was a row of the Balm Stains which I really like, a new ColorIcon 8 pan palette and 2 new nail polishes: a base coat and a Matte top coat. On the bottom were the 5 new 5-pan eyeshadows. I purchased the purples at Rite Aid. Review to follow! (On select products there is a $1 off coupon attached) There were 3 displays with new Wet n Wild products at Rite Aid. I saw these at Harmon last month and picked up 2 nail polishes. On this trip to Rite Aid I picked up a Megaslicks Balm Stain in Pinky Promise and an eye shadow 5 pan in Floral Values. I did not pick up any of the nail polishes. At Harmon I picked up a magenta chunky hexagonal glitter and a turquoise and silver hexagonal chunky glitter with square glitter. ![]() The 5 pans are labeled with where to place the on the eye. There are matte and shimmer/glitter colors. These were $3.99 with a $1.00 off coupon attached to the product. A review will be upcoming. ![]() I picked up a frosty pink called Pinky Promise. They were $2.99 with a $1 off sticker attached to the product. There were 6 colors. On a quick review these went on very soft and moisturizing. I would like to try one of the nude colors as well. A review will follow. ![]() I picked up a Sally Hansen colorfast lip pencil because they are very moisturizing and smell like chocolate! They are 75% off at CVS now. I also picked up the last Fergie CenterStage eye palette in Desertt Festival for my collection at Walgreens for 2.99 with coupon and sale. I have read many poor reviews on these but I tend to like the Fergie shadows. Some are very, very sheer and powdery but overall I enjoy making color combinations for my eyes using them. I had some Rite Aid expired Up rewards that the nice manager allowed me to use so my Rite Aid total came to less than $2.00. Fergie polish was BOGO Free so I picked up the last 2 needed for my collection: Dana and Mazel Tov Madness from the Heavy Metal winter collection. N.Y.C Color was also 30% off so I picked up a new Grand Central Station (Best top coat) and a Matte me crazy. I also saw a few new Maybelline collections at Rite Aid. They had a new color show nail collection and a Street Art collection. I picked up a Royal blue and black splatter one from the Street Art one. |
